Collection - Dabbling in Surrealism
I have always been drawn to fantasy and surrealism. Intrigued by the creativity and the way it provokes thoughts and ideas. From a young age most of my favourite artists were surrealists and remain so today. This is the beginning of an ongoing series where I will explore ideas and issues important to me. - Ginney Deavoll.
About the artwork
Covering 30% of the earths surface and home to the occupants of more than 25,000 islands, the Great Barrier Reef is one of our most important ecosystems, yet it is in trouble. There is radioactive waste flowing into it with a garbage patch the size of Texas with an incredibly high density of plastic suspended in it. The Great Barrier Reef is struggling to cope with the amount of greywater flowing over it. We are a nation of beach lovers, this is our ocean, is it not time to turn that affection into action?
