About the artwork
For the last 19 years, since my trip to America, I’ve been looking at the original oil of ‘Red Reflections’ on the wall behind our TV. It marks a lesson learnt on that trip from seeing a Picasso, where he used a crisscross pattern to solve a problem with a blank background, so on my return I reworked ‘Red Reflections’ employing this solution.
