About the artwork
Oil on board, circa 1964, was sold from my studio in Breakwater Road, New Plymouth.
On my return from art school, I made paintings experimenting with the reversal of colours, so blue sky became yellow.
Sunbathers is an arrangement of beach studies, done between 1963-66, over a geometric composition.
Previous colour experiments encouraged me to make the black iron sands a nice burnt orange
