About the artwork
An early image of the Rock Pool Series, this is an inspired use of the torn edge of a tissue paper stencil to represent the foaming wave, set against knife cut stencil edges which represent the absolute and solid aspect of rock. The torn edge related to the clean-cut edge also gives an effective illusion of space.
